Helpful Habits The You Need To Practice To Grow Your Positive Mindset

Suffering has long been romanticized in literature, art, and folklore as transformative and empowering. — Susanne Babbel MFT, PhD

The power of positivity is often underestimated. A positive outlook can permeate into all facets of your life from work, relationships, and personal health. Often, we just need some reminding to look on the brighter side of things to get us back on track – the following are some helpful reminders to keep in mind.

Achieving Success Is During The Process, And Not Only The Destination

People tend to view success as something achievable in the finish line. With that, some people become impatient when they see it to be seemingly out of reach. The truth is that success is found in the process of doing your thing. It is in the ups-and-downs that you encounter along the way and it is in these moments that paint the canvas of a bigger adventure of your self-discovery.

Right Now, You Are Where You Need To Be – This Is Your Destiny.

Everything happens for a reason, so avoid the mindset where you think you are just a victim of circumstances. Instead of wallowing in despair, be accepting of the situation, and find a means to go forward. This is your destiny – go and do it.

Growth Is Retrospective

You can’t measure growth daily. It’s like watching your hair grow. It will only be evident in longer intervals of time. Becoming a better person is realized upon looking back from a future vantage point; in weeks, months, or even years of progress. If you feel you’re not making any progress at present, keep at it and look back after some time. You will see that growth, that is if you continue to move forward and work on your purpose.

You Have More Time Than You Perceive, It Is Abundant – Use It

We often underestimate how much time and how much we can get done in a day. It’s common to look at our busy schedules and assume we don’t have time for anything else, but you do. Getting rid of distractions like checking your phones or indulging in social media incrementally frees up a lot of time and headspace. You’d be surprised how much you can achieve once you sit down and do it.

You Are Not, And Will Never Be Alone

No one holds the walkthrough to life, and everyone is figuring this out as much as you are. Take solace in knowing that you are not “behind” in life. Everyone goes through it differently and uniquely, which defines the human experience. There is no certainty in life, and that is liberating since you can keep moving forward at your own pace, not measured against the status of others.

Do Not Be Afraid Of Change

Today is just as good as any other day to make a change for the better. Realize that it’s never too late to start something new, just be motivated and persevere towards the new goal you’ve set yourself to achieve. Also be mindful that while change is inevitable, it does not happen overnight. Prepare for the long game and reap the fruits of your labor down the line.
